Ove Finnøy has been employed by Finnøy Gear & Propeller since 1969. He is thus one of the very few remaining employees who has participated in producing Finnøy engines of the day.

Ove was raised on Finnøya, just a stone's throw away from the workplace where he wore his youth shoes. He started his professional career as an apprentice at Finnøy Motorfabrikk at the age of only 17 years. It was his father, Nils O. Finnøy, who got him a job and at that time he had an hourly wage of NOK 3.40, - he informs and smiles broadly. He was assigned responsibility early on and he took over as Foreman of the welding department just a few years later. Today, Ove still works full-time as Foreman and plans to stay for a few more years - or until he gets bored, according to himself.

In a gathering earlier, Ove was saluted by management and his colleagues for his efforts and dedication over five decades. Nils Erling Finnøy, General Manager, says: “We are a cornerstone company based on expertise and continuity. That is why it is essential that we have talented and loyal employees like Ove, who have laid the foundation to form the company that we are today - and who we want to be. He is a role model for future generations, and I thank Ove for his many years of dedication and hard work.”
